| Unquenched Desire |
8/16/96 |
Emotions completely immolated, I wrote this as a poem and then
realized music for it. Strange how I tend to fully visualize the
music and then use the keyboard to transcribe the notes.
Darkness so bright it hurts my eyes;
lifeforce so deep through all it shines.
Mystical one how can I know
that inner child that I love so?
Longing so great it feels like pain
convulsing to its wax and wane.
All engulfed in the fire that burns
as my mind plots the twists and turns.
And Fate, indifferent to my lot,
I rail at thee and heed thee not!
No wisdom can survive the blaze
that immolates a mind so crazed.
Yet somehow I must gain control,
for if I don't I too well know
that all is lost; for such as she
is not won very easily.
And so I'm left to ponder on
her beauty, strength, and many charms.
Dreaming all day, into the night.
Surrender to what I can't fight.
Darkness so bright it hurts my eyes;
lifeforce so deep through all it shines.
Mystical one I need to know
that inner child that I love so.
