| She Wants To Fly |
8/26/2008
|
Lying in bed this morning thinking about someone some of this just
leapt into my head. The muse had not visited me in so long that it
was quite a surprise! I lay there and thought about the meaning and
words of the song, then rode to work with the tune fleshing out in
my head. Finally I sat down to compose the song and this is the result,
which I am quite happy with.
She wants to fly, high-a-high, fly into the sky.
Well she wants to have her freedom,
and to feel good all the time;
and she doesn't want to worry
if the view is worth the climb.
Oh she savors each sensation,
lives the moment day or night.
Pays attention to her feelings,
every sound and every sight.
Soaring up into the blue,
passing clouds of rainbow hue,
leaving all the world behind,
just relax and let it all
unwi-hi-hind...unwi-hi-hind...
She wants to fly, high-a-high, fly into the sky.
Oh it's not for her this slogging,
through the muddy trench of life,
so she wants to rise above it,
live with ease and without strife.
Yes she wants her creature comforts,
and she wants excitement too.
Make each day a fun adventure,
always fresh and always new.
Soaring up into the blue,
passing clouds of rainbow hue,
leaving all the world behind,
just relax and let it all
unwi-hi-hind...unwi-hi-hind...
She wants to fly, high-a-high, fly into the sky.
Not for her the same restrictions,
that the masses must live by.
Many bargains and commitments,
are too heavy for the sky.
Yes she's going to have her freedom,
and she'll have no other way.
Save tomorrow for tomorrow,
and live in the today.
She wants to fly, high-a-high, fly into the sky.
She wants to fly, high-a-high, fly into the sky.
And never come back down...
