| On the Lonely Wind |
7/9/2000
|
Fragments of this song found their way into my head while driving.
After arriving home I was distracted and almost lost it, but managed
to get it back. After many hours at the keyboard and the computer
this is the result. It's a gentle parable. Since I've done the
actual tune on the computer, you can see the
sheet music and hear
the MIDI tune here.
This is only a very rough approximation -- I am frustrated with the tools available and can't
seem to get the cadence quite right.
I sit here alone,
alone with the wind.
You're so far away
with nothing to say.
There's nothing I can do
but dream about you.
But if I could grow wings
I'd fly there to you.
Fly, fly, fly
on the lonely wind.
Oh baby I would fly to you
on the lonely wind.
Oh baby I would fly to you
on the lonely wind.
Oh baby can I fly to you
on the lonely wind?
I close my eyes
and drift in the wind.
I whisper your name
but do you feel the same?
And what would you do
if I flew to you
gliding with my wings
on the lonely wind?
Fly to you baby on the lonely wind
lonely lonely wind.
Fly to you baby on the lonely wind
lonely lonely wind.
Fly to you baby on the lonely wind
lonely lonely wind.
Fly to you baby on the lonely wind
lonely lonely wind.
The tears gently fall
and dry in the wind
and it's almost like
I can hear your voice
on the lonely wind
and it's almost like
I can feel your touch
on the lonely wind.
Fly to me baby on the lonely wind
lonely lonely wind.
Fly to me baby on the lonely wind
lonely lonely wind.
Fly to me baby on the lonely wind
lonely lonely wind.
Fly to me baby on the lonely wind
lonely lonely wind.
