| Inside the Chocolate |
4/6/2000
|
This strange song came into my head when thinking about
a recent betrayal and how many people have done terrible
things even after they have seemed so sweet at first.
Thus the metaphor, and its expansion into a song.
The tune is elaborate, with a counter-melody and bass
line, plus strong drumbeats. It's moderate rock.
He bites the chocolate
lets the taste sink in
so sweet and rich
but what is this?
Inside it wriggles
wriggles and it tickles,
because there is a maggot
a maggot inside the chocolate!
[Drum: ddddd ddddddd]
CHORUS:
Whoa, ho! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Oh, no! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Oh, yeah! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Whoa, yeah! Maggot inside the chocolate.
[Drum: d DD ddddddd dddd dd ddddddd]
He spits it from his mouth
gagging in disgust
almost not believing there's a
maggot inside the chocolate.
But right there on the ground
writhing and a-crawling
crawling from the chocolate
comes that tiny maggot.
Whoa, ho! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Oh, no! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Oh, yeah! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Whoa, yeah! Maggot inside the chocolate.
It's too late now
to ever forget
that thing in his mouth
maggot inside the chocolate.
Forever more
the dread will live
he'll always think there's a
maggot inside the chocolate.
Whoa, ho! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Oh, no! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Oh, yeah! Maggot inside the chocolate!
Whoa, yeah! Maggot inside the chocolate.
